Okay, I have to admit that starting a blog is very nerve wracking. I mean, you’re actually putting yourself out there not really knowing what you’re doing. And I gotta give you a heads up that English isn’t my primary language but I will try my best to not mess the grammar up so much …. uhhh actually no promises ;D
Beside my broken English, let’s talk about what this blog is about.
The 3 Reasons Why I Start a Blog
1. Make Something of Your Own
It’s the 21st century and everyone wants to be their own boss. I was a digital advisor at a firm in Denver for one year right out of college. Yup, that first job that made you get out of bed in the morning and drove miserably to work. Okay, it’s not all bad. But three months in and I wondered what the f*ck am I doing? I started living for the weekend and watching the clock when it’s going to hit 5pm. Nope, this is not what I imagined my life would be.
May 27th 2017, I packed my sh*t of five years in the States into two suitcases and moved back home to Thailand. But hang on, I was just there for a couple months until I finally moved to Europe (precisely Germany). I will write a blog on that 😉
2. Follow Your Dreams
The phrase “follow your dreams” is such a f*cking cliché but gotta tell you, it is one of the many things that make life beautiful. After a heartbreak, someone once told me that “you gotta find who you are and hold on to that because even when he breaks your heart, he can’t break you”. Honestly, if someone had told me I’d be writing a blog one day I’d laugh at them and say that’s never going to happen. But look where I am now.
My dreams or so called passion is capturing moments. Yes, I’m one of those people who always take photos wherever they go. Some people find it annoying but I’mma tell you, when my hair turns grey and my face has too many wrinkles my pug can’t even compete, I will have all these photos reminding me of the “moments” I had in my life. The places you never going to visit again. The people you never going to see again, not in the same way at least. And years of your life you can’t take back. My memories may fade as I get older but those capturing moments? It will still be there.
3. Create Opportunities
If you are like me, you’ll understand the disappointment when you didn’t get that interview, at that company, in that city. You got a great GPA, great grades, great resume and great recommendations yet you don’t have enough experiences to be qualified for the job. What really pisses me off about that system is that how the f*uck can you expect one to have experience when you don’t give it to them? But that’s the thing, I was fishing for experiences at the wrong place. Not only I’d applied for jobs IDGAF, I almost graduated college with a degree IDGAF about even more.
What I’m trying to say is that opportunities are out there! You just gotta hustle and find it. Well, like they say, opportunities don’t just come knocking on your door, honey.
This blog is not only my opportunity to follow my dreams but also an opportunity to love what I do. To not live for the weekend after working 8-5 on weekdays and dread about it.
I’mma sum this up for you in Chal style. Figure out what the f*ck you want and goddam hustle for it. The world doesn’t owe you anything. And most importantly, don’t forget to love yourself 🙂
